It has been observed that the number of road accidents have increased in all parts of the State resulting in loss of life of many people in recent times. The following measures are being taken by all the districts of Assam for a period of 2 (two) months as the 1 st phase to check road accidents.

1st Phase Special Drive to prevent road accidents are:

1. Action against Rash and Negligent driving.
2. Action against Drunken driving.
3. Setting up of Special Mobile court.
4. Use of Parking Lights and Illuminating objects like reflectors on highways on the rear of all vehicles including HMVs.
