  • To identify a village by each of the Assam Police Battalions
  • to carry out survey of educational, economic and social conditions of the villagers.
  • to identify feasible and existing developmental schemes based on locally available resources and expertise.
  • to hold regular meeting with the villagers, developmental agencies to formulate strategy.
  • Provide training.
  • Organise Awareness Programmes.
  • Encourage all children to attend primary and middle level schools without dropping out.
  D- RESULTS ACHIEVED/ANTICIPATED
  • Motivated the villagers/unemployed youths to rely on self employment

  • Enthusiastic response of the villagers and unemployed youths for growth oriented schemes like:
    • Pig farm oPoultry farm
    • Bee-keeping
    • Goat-rearing
    • Duckery
    • Plantation of banana, commercially valuable trees etc.
    • Muga farm (Golden silk)
    • Tailoring/ Embroidery/ motor mechanics/ carpentry
    • Weaving center
    • Participation of the public in maintenance of peace and communal harmony in the locality with the police.
  E- SUSTAINABILITY
  • Formation of core group- comprising
    • Zonal Nodal Officers
    • Local youths/ villagers
    • Financial agencies
    • Development Departments
    • Self-Help Groups
  • to maintain and sustain development through community participation.
  • Development schemes are local resource based and part of approved developmental schemes.
  F- LESSONS LEARNT
  • Commitment of development workers to the schemes needs improvement.
  • Awareness about developmental schemes, health hazard, education, etc. amongst villagers is still at low level.
  • Motivation of unemployed youths to take up self employment schemes is at low level.
  • Trust between project partners needs to be sustained.
  G- REPLICABILITY
  • Enthusiastic response from the community
  • More and more villagers joining hands' with police
