Sri
Deba Kanta Kakati, retired IGP , Assam, said
that it was the first and foremost duty of
the Police to protect the lives and property
of the people of the State.Addressing the
gathering at the Assam Police Day function
at the 4th A.P.Battalion ground,Kahilipara
as the Chief Guest, Sri Kakati said that the
Assam Police has been able to give a good
account of themselves in the last couple of
years in combating insurgency all over the
State. He praised the many brave police personnel
alongwith the members of the Army and other
Para Military forces who sacrificed their
lives in the line of duty.Sri Kakati called
upon all the members of the Assam Police to
rededicate themselves to perform their duties
enjoined upon by law without fear of favour
in the service of the people of the State.

Deepak Narayan Dutta IPS, ADGP(Training
& Armed Police) welcomed the guests
and spoke on the occasion. To mark
the occasion,Assam Police organised
a blood donation camp at the 4th A.P.Bn.
Hqrs. at Kahilipara, Guwahati.

total of 89 persons including senior Police
Officers donated blood.The blood donation
camp was organised with the help of the Blood
Bank of Guwahati Medical College Hospital.
The wives of the Officers also donated blood
on that occasion to motivate Police Personal
to come forward to donate blood for a good
cause |
