Finale of the XVIth. Assam Police Sports and
Athletics Meet at Dergaon. |

Dergaon,
Feb 24 : The
Six day long 16th Assam Police Sports and
Athletics Meet which got off to a colourful
start at the Police Training College (P.T.C.)
Ground, Dergaon in Golaghat District of
upper Assam came to an end today with the
colourful March Past presented by different
participating contingents and distribution
of trophies to winning teams and individuals
followed by Cultural Function, Band Display,
Beating the Retreat and Fire works.
Speaking
on the occasion, the Director General of
Police, Assam, Shri H.K.Deka said that such
sports meet contributes to the enhancement
of competitiveness, friendship, camaraderie
in a force.

| 19th
(IR) Bn., Makum lifted the football Trophy
beating 1st A.P.Bn. by 2-0 goals. Overall
Championship trophy was lifted by 8th A.P.Bn,
Volleyball trophy winner was 8th A.P.Bn. Abhayapuri
and Runners-up was 14th APBn, Daulasal. While
Biswajit Biswas of 8th APBn won best Athlet
(Men) trophy, Bijenti Dewri of 13th APBn bagged
best Athletic (women) trophy. |
