SUMMARY OF FACTS OF THE CASE :
INDIA, Assam,
Guwahati, Silpukhuri: BARUAH is
a member of a terrorist organization.
On 10th May 1985, he and other
members of the organization carried
out an armed bank robbery. They
shot and killed the manager, stole
1NR 27,549.62 in cash and fled
the scene in a vehicle forcibly
taken from someone they had kidnapped.
Several of the offenders were
arrested, the money was recovered
and some weapons were seized,
but BARUAH is still at large.
REASON FOR NOTICE :
Wanted on an arrest warrant (no
number), issued on 14th February
1997 by the judicial authorities
in Guwahati, Assam, India, for
murder, receiving stolen property,
unlawful imprisonment and violation
of the firearms legislation. EXTRADITION
WILL REQUESTED FROM ANY COUNTRY.
If found, please detain and immediately
inform INTERPOL NEW DELHI (Reference
IP-06/27/95 of 4th June 1997)
and the ICPO-lnterpol General

under NSCN, KIA, ISI of Pakistan.
He always carries small arms.
He ordered and approved kidnapping,
killing, extortion and other violent
activities by ULFA and liked minded
organisations in the State of
Assam and outside. He has been
involved in
the incidents of kidnapping,
killing, extortion,
Bank dacoity etc. He has established
contacts with the foreign agents
inimical to India and procured
sophisticated arms, ammunition,
high explosives, communication
devices from foreign countries
by the extorted money of ULFA.
He is one of the member of outstanding
council of ULFA. |

10-05-85 @ 10:45/11 a.m. accused
Mahikanta Hati Baruah, Kalpajyoti
Neog, Dipak Hazarika, Hirokjyoti
Mahanta, Paresh Baruah etc.
armed with Pistol/Revolver etc
committed dacoity at United
Commercial Bank, Silpukhuri
Branch, Guwahati. The criminals
snatched away the gun of the
security guard of the Bank and
damaged the same and shot dead
Giresh Goswami, the Manager
of the Bank and looted away
cash Rs. 27,549.62. The criminals
fled away after commission of
the crime by an ambassador car
which was forcibly taken from
the driver after confining him.
Immediately after the occurance,
the Police, after a hot chase,
apprehended Mahikanta Hati Baruah
and recovered some arms and
ammunition. Later Police arrested
Birendra Narayan Konwar, kalpajyoti
Neog and recovered looted cash
and arms, ammunition etc. But
the accused Paresh Baruah, Hirakjyoti
Mahanta (since died) and Naba
kumar absconded evading arrest.
